Scouting

At Innovation Academy, we break the mold of traditional education. While we're licensed educators, this isn't your typical school. Here, kids are free to explore at their own pace. We meet them where they are, pushing boundaries, encouraging them to build, question, and discover the world around them. This is a space where curiosity drives learning, and hands-on exploration sparks real growth.

We are excited to provide opportunies for Scouts to get their hands on technology and practice engineering skills. We offer a wide variety of Scouting America Merit Badges with certified Merit Badge Counselors, Troop meeting night activities, GSUSA Badge earning programs, and so much more!

Our programs are customizable to what you individual troop/ group of scouts may need. Contact us for more information!

Girl Scouts USA Badges

Innovate and Create

Girl Scouts will problem-solve and tackle budgeting challenges to design contraptions that keep an egg safe. Our leaders will guide them through the process, using "BuildMo Bucks" to plan and gather materials. They'll also learn to use a laser cutter for precise designs. Afterward, we'll reflect on lessons learned and teamwork.

Think like an Engineer

We teach the girls scouts how to assemble and code a Cutebots. Following engineering principles, they modify the code to control lights, play music, and react to inputs. The coding challenge involves navigating the Cutebot robots through a maze, demonstrating coding skills and problem-solving.

Creative Tech and Design

We teach the girls to use Adobe Illustrator to create their own unique wooden lanterns. They'll learn about a laser cutter to craft precise models, master portraying unique features, and explore cutting and engraving materials for 3D models. Take home an awesome lantern.

Model Car Design Challenge

Students are divided into groups to construct slot cars that maintain contact with copper tape on the track. After building, they test their cars on a smaller track section, observing how the motor converts kinetic to electrical energy to propel the car. They adjust designs to improve stability and optimize contact. The activity emphasizes teamwork, problem-solving, and creativity.

Junior Art and Design

Students will learn the wonders of 3D printing technology. Through hands-on activities and engaging lessons, they'll discover how to successfully print on Ender 3, 3D printers. We will teach students how to work with different Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software platforms to create their own designs prepares them for the digital design aspect of the 3D printing process. Everything students print, they can take home!

More Badges

Earn badges in woodworking, robotics, engineering, design, and more! We partner with Girl Scout troops from Daisies to Ambassadors to create tailored badge offerings. Past projects include woodworking and engineering badges for Juniors, Brownies, and Cadettes.
