We teach creative problem solving through training.
Solving Problems is what Brad Halsey and Albert Vega, Ph.D. do.
Brad and Albert spent a year on the ground in Afghanistan and Iraq respectively, working alongside active duty service members, helping the warfighter in real time by developing creative solutions to the hardest problems on the battlefield. After returning home, they realized that a core problem that persists across the military also exists in the boardroom, the classroom, and our dining rooms — a lack of confidence and permission to solve most problems we face on our own.
With that in mind, they founded Building Momentum in 2014 as a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business, and since then, we’ve trained over 5000 active duty service members across all branches of the military, 1000 students, hundreds of executives and professionals, and countless members of our community in everything from 3D Printing to Welding, CAD(Computer Aided Design) to Laser Cutting, Woodworking to Coding and even how to take a drone down with a T-shirt cannon.

Professional, Community, and Educational Services
Since 2014, our offerings have built upon our Innovation Boot Camp to include a suite of services inspired by Innovation Boot Camp’s ethos. These services include our Innovation Academy programs which are aimed at teaching young people aged six to eighteen 21st century skills and technologies through creative problem solving. We also offer Innovation Elevated, our intensive corporate-focused programs. The series takes traditional organizational development and improvement programs like SCRUM, Agile and Design Thinking and infuses them with tools and experiential learning like welding, robotics and drones. This fusion format creates next-gen teams ready to take on the challenges of the future of business.
